METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF PAIN IN LUMBOSACRAL SPINE DEPARTMENT Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2625779 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: for the differential diagnosis of pain in the lumbosacral spine, the following parameters are analyzed: presence of pain in the lower back, ability to tolerate pain without taking painkillers, presence of injuries during the past year, pain spreading in the legs, presence of injuries for more than one year back, presence of numbness in the leg, duration of pain, presence of tumoral formations of benign or malignant nature, soreness of paravertebral points, presence of hyperlordosis, smoothed lordosis, hypomyotonia. Values of discriminant functions y1, y2, y3 are calculated using indicators obtained during patient survey and clinical examination, where all indicators are presented as binary values. At the maximum value of y1, absence of clinical manifestations of lumbosacral spine diseases is established, and the patient is prescribed preventive measures. At the maximum value of y2, presence of nonspecific pain in the lumbosacral spine is established, and therapeutic and diagnostic measures are prescribed. At the maximum value of y3, presence of specific pain is established, and the patient is prescribed a comprehensive examination to determine the disease specificity.

EFFECT: method allows to determine the nature of pain in the back of each patient, to identify practically healthy people and patients with nonspecific and specific pain in the lumbosacral spine, which allows to further determine the range of necessary therapeutic and diagnostic measures for each of them.
