SUBSTANCE: PDCAB packet (300) and RRA packet (308) are transferred together via F-SCCH. For example, 9 bits (305) of RRA are attached to PDCAB field (303) instead of the padding bits (205), thereby securing their messages PDCAB (303) and RRA (311) from errors by 16-bit CRC (307). According to the embodiments the receiver is capable of making a difference between PDCAB (303) and RRA (305) changing message formats and the integrated transfer of (300) and (308) packets is a normal operation mode in the embodiments. Thus, when PDCAB packet (300) and RRA packet (308) are transferred together, the network replaces N padding PDCAB bits, such as padding bits (205), with the first N bits of RRA bit map (311), to use the nominal CRC length for both (300) and (308) packets.
EFFECT: efficient use of passband.
