The disclosed method comprises steps of: determining reconfiguration to be performed by a base station; encoding an indication of said reconfiguration together with an indicator in a reconfiguration request message, indicating a response required from the receiving base station upon receipt of said reconfiguration request message; and transmitting the reconfiguration request message from user equipment.
EFFECT: enabling user equipment to request reconfiguration of a radio interface between the user equipment and a base station in a multi-carrier wireless communication system.
