FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by compensating the deviations of the scale factor value by time multiplexing the main Sagnac phase shift compensation signal with an auxiliary diagnostic signal. This additional diagnostic signal provides the appearance of a corresponding interferometric response with a complex polyharmonic structure, the registration of which on the photodetector device and the subsequent analysis of the ratios of the individual spectral components allow to estimate the magnitude of the scale factor deviation.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of the fiber-optic gyroscope without reducing the frequency of the rotation signal formation.
