SUBSTANCE: method of measuring the technological channel curvature of the RBMK-type nuclear reactor, which consists in that a flexible core element equipped with fiber-optic strain sensors is placed in the central channel of the fuel assembly, a light signal is passed through the fiber optic sensor, and the bending of the rod element is recorded by analyzing the reflected light signals. A device for implementing the said measurement, including a flexible rod member provided with deformation sensors. Moreover, fiber-optic strain sensors connected to a tunable laser and a photodetector are Bragg gratings embedded in the structure of a radiation-resistant quartz optical fiber.
EFFECT: simplification and improvement of measurement accuracy.
