FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: questionnaire consisting of 20 questions is filled, which covers life and social adaptation of the patient, his/her psycho-emotional status, pain syndrom, changes in the digestive and urinary system: "Violations of the excretory organs limit the child's daily activities and behavior", "In school or in kindergarten the child is non-adapted, does not communicate with peers, cannot remain sitting for long", "The child is trying not to appear in public, in clubs, or playgrounds too often", "You develop a schedule based on the defecation and urination violations", "Long traveling by transport makes the child feel uncomfortable and anxious", "Due to defecation violations, you are forced to limit the child in some products", "The child is not experiencing the full joy of life", "The child feels shy about his/her appearance or deficient", "A lack of mood or sadness is often observed", "Child's mood depends on the excretory organs function", "Abdominal pain", "Pain during or after defecation", "Pain near the postoperative scar", " Pain during urination", "Defecation incontinence, feces smearing", "Urinary incontinence, leakage", "Inability to distinguish between gas emission and defecation", "The need for frequent changes of underwear and gasket application", "Constipation and gas delay", "The need for substantial force during defecation". Each answer is evaluated against a five-point scale, depending on the frequency of events occurence. The obtained scores are summed and used in a mathematical formula. Depending on the resulting value, quality of life regarded as unsatisfactory that requires correction in the future postoperative period.
EFFECT: method allows quality of life assessment for postoperative patients with sacrococcygeal teratoma, with simplified survey due to the reduced number of questions in the questionnaire, which can be used for different age groups of children and adolescents, as well as according to assessment of urinary and digestive systems changes and psycho-emotional status impact on the quality of life.
