FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method for assessment of algae and cyanobacteria suitability for purification plants active silt formation is proposed. The method includes determination of the critical values of natural and anthropogenic impact parameters causing the death of microorganisms, comparing them to the maximum possible values of these parameters in the event of an emergency and/or abnormal weather conditions, and determination the integral indicator of microorganisms resistance.

EFFECT: increased reliability of the purification plant for cases of extreme emissions of pollutants, and extreme increase or decrease in ambient or sewage water temperature.
