FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of protecting against biofouling of surfaces of rocks and mineral formations of carbonate and gypsum caves, as well as surfaces of monuments, walls and building facades of natural materials. Method involves obtaining an antibacterial coating by preparing suspension from 2% solution of polyvinyl formal in 1,2-dichloroethane and silver nanoparticles with size of 70–150 nm. Content of silver nanoparticles in the polyvinyl formal solution is 0.2%. Suspension is treated with ultrasound and applied on the surface with the help of a spray gun.
EFFECT: invention enables to prevent growth of microbiota on stone surfaces for up to 6 months.
