FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the reprocessing of irradiated nuclear fuel (INF). The method for dissolving the paroxidized INF includes the processing of INF in a heterogeneous system with the participation of nitrogen dioxide. The powdered material (INF) is brought into contact with a solution of nitric acid with a concentration of 0.8-2.5 mol/l, at a slurry temperature of 30-60°C and normal pressure are passed through the reaction volume through a gas stream obtained by mixing a continuous flow of oxygen and a stream of acid-forming nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide generated as a result of the catalytically activated oxidation of the inductor under the action of nitric acid.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the content of zirconium and molybdenum in the product of dissolving irradiated nuclear fuel.
