SUBSTANCE: sealing element for pipeline valves comprising the regulatory element is proposed, that comprises: the annular member having the first part and the second part disposed against each other, and the compressible sealing part fixed between the first and second parts; wherein the first and second parts comprise the first and second curved surfaces, respectively, adjacent to the sealing surface of the compressible sealing part; wherein the first and second curved surfaces allow the regulatory element to compress the sealing portion into contact with the curved surfaces, while moving the regulatory element into the valve closing position. The curvature radius of the first curved surface is larger than the curvature radius of the second curved surface. The sealing surface is curved and has the first curvature radius and the second curvature radius; wherein the first curvature radius of the sealing surface is substantially equal to the curvature radius of the first curved surface, and the second curvature radius is substantially equal to the curvature radius of the second curved surface.
