SUBSTANCE: audio signal generating decoder with the improved frequency characteristic comprises: a property extracting unit from the base signal; an additional selection information extracting unit, associated with the base signal; a parameter generator for generating a parametric representation to estimate a spectral audio signal range with the improved frequency characteristic, not determined by the base signal, wherein the parameter generator is configured to provide a number of alternative parametric representations in response to the said property. The parameter generator is configured to select one of the alternative parametric representations in response to the additional selection information.

EFFECT: creating an improved concept of coding, audio data decoding, that allows to reduce the additional information transfer speed for the directed decoding scheme.
