SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle external mirror base and to its production method. Base includes external casing made of synthetic material and one metal reinforcing component. External casing from synthetic material also performs bearing function. One reinforcing element is molded part from sheet steel. Molded part from sheet steel is partially covered by external casing from synthetic material and rigidly connected with it in several individual points. Each of these connection points is made in form of localised geometrical closure between part from sheet steel and external casing, which enables action in all three dimensions. Method of base producing consists in fact, that preliminary molded by extrusion part from sheet steel is partially coated with synthetic material.
EFFECT: enabling external mirror base higher strength and reduced vibration.
