METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF HORMONE-ACTIVE TUMOURS OF ADRENAL GLANDS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61N1/06 

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: when an increase in the level of hormones corresponding to the detected tumour is detected, the tumour and its spatial relationship with the surrounding organs and vessels is visualized followed by tumour radiofrequency thermoablation (RFTA). RFTA is performed in two stages under visual endoscopic control with the use of intraoperative endoscopic ultrasound. At the first stage, RFTA of the central part of the visualized tumour is perfromed for 3 minutes at a temperature of 90-105 degrees Celsius and power of 70-90 W with radio-frequency electrode conductors introduced to a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm. At the second stage, RFTA is repeated with the same time, temperature and power modes as at the first stage, but in the volume of the entire tumour within the boundaries of the contour found. In the course of treatment, an assessment of its adequacy is made by examining the level of tumour hormones, as well as their additional control 6 and 12 months after thermoablation.

EFFECT: method provides complete tumour destruction with a significant reduction in the duration of anesthesia for RFTA, maximum reduction in the risk of intra- and postoperative complications due to more accurate imaging of the tumour under endovideo control, preservation of organ integrity, its endocrine function, hormonal homeostasis of the organism, stable therapeutic effect.
