FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: fuel cell includes a housing 1, a gas-liquid path 2, electrodes 3 that can be made of activated carbon or carbon fibre or porous graphite and impregnated with a 20-60% aqueous solution of the heteropolyacid of 2-18 type of the H6[P2W18O62], are compressed on both sides by perforated metal plates 4 of stainless steel or chromium, or nickel, or copper with aperture diameter of 0.5-10 mm, which in turn can be made on the sides of the housing made of an inert dielectric material, the perforation is designed so that the holes in the housing are opposite the holes in the metal perforated plates of the electrodes. Two electrodes are placed in the housing opposite each other with a gap of 5-100 mm, through which the gas path 2 passes for supply and discharge of liquid or gas. Electrical terminals 5 and 6, which form a combined anode and a combined cathode, are attached to the metal plates of the electrodes 4.
EFFECT: expanding the range of used types of fuels, both liquid and gaseous, high cell efficiency, increasing the service life, simplicity in manufacturing and maintenance.
