FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method and device to configurate the testing parameters set, performed using the optic time domain reflectometer (OTDR). The method includes receiving by the FMS system of the relevant information about the network ODN according to testing results, returned by reflectometer; and configuring by the FMS system the testing parameters set, required for one or more following testings, using OTDR, in accordance with the mentioned relevant information. In accordance with the technical solutions, proposed in the present invention, the testing parameters set, required to run the testing, using OTDR, can be obtained with high accuracy.

EFFECT: increase of the reception in the communication system reliability.
