SUBSTANCE: locking clutch for selectively transmitting torque from a rotary stator coupled to a drilling motor configured to be installed in the wellbore and a rotary output shaft coupled to the rotary rotor of the drilling engine comprises a plurality of sliding stop blocks slidably connected to a rotary output shaft. Moreover, mentioned sliding stop blocks are made slidably radially inwardly and outwardly with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the rotational output shaft. These sliding lock blocks are separated with each other along the circumference of a round rotating output shaft, with each of the sliding locking block contains the first grid on which the face and the second grid on which face many captured locking blocks connected with turning the stator. These fixed locking blocks are located radially around the rotating output shaft and are separated with each other on a circle on the inside of the stator rotating far enough to receive one of the sliding locking block when it moves inside to the central axis of the rotating output shaft. Each of mentioned fixed locking blocks comprises a first contact face and a second contacting face. A method for selectively transferring torque from a rotary stator to a rotary output shaft is described.
