FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by means of collapsible mandrel for manufacturing large-sized shells of composite materials with profiled inner cavity. Mandrel consists of nose and main parts and contains fixing end flanges fixed on the mounting rod, longitudinal assembled segments that are in contact with flanges, located along the generatrix of mandrel main part and connected by a lock joint. At the same time, nose and main parts of mandrel are made in the form of solid rigid docked to each other shells. From the side of larger diameter shell of mandrel nose part, an end flange with guide ring is made, and the longitudinal segments are made of polymer composite materials and fixed on the shell of mandrel main part.
EFFECT: reducing mandrel mass, simplifying the assembly-disassembly process, increasing the accuracy of geometric parameters of profiled mandrel work surface.
