FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for obtaining ethylene by catalytic dehydration of ethanol in a reactor consisting of a vertical housing with feedstock feed and reaction product discharge pipes, fuel-air mixture feed and flue gas discharge pipes, tubes filled with an inert material, preferably of porcelain densely sintered mixture, and a granular catalyst, preferably based on aluminium oxide systems, to carry out an endothermic reaction, and the space between the tubes is filled with finely-divided catalyst in a fluidized state, preferably based on copper, manganese, chromium and aluminium oxides, to carry out exothermic reaction of complete oxidation of the fuel-air mixture components. The method is characterized in the fact that a mixture of by-products of the dehydration reaction of ethanol with air and/or a mixture of these products with any combustible hydrocarbons with a carbon number from 1 to 15 and air are used as the fuel-air mixture, and the fluidized bed of the catalyst is used as the heat carrier. The invention also relates to a reactor.
EFFECT: use of the present invention allows to supply heat efficiently and at the same time use reaction by-products and unreacted starting reagents usefully.
