FIELD: heat exchangers.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heat exchange apparatus with a solid heat carrier in a fluidised state allowing controlled heat exchange of a solid heat carrier used in an endothermic or exothermic process, with at least one reaction area, wherein said apparatus is comprised of a bundle of heat exchange tubes immersed in a fluidised bed of a solid phase, and said fluidised bed is located in a chamber communicating with the reaction area via at least one solid phase input line, wherein said bundle of heat exchange tubes is comprised of a plurality of longitudinal tubes grouped in 4: one bayonet-type tube (8)/(9) comprising a central tube and a tube coaxial to and surrounding the central tube, and 3 tubes parallel to the bayonet tube (8)/(9) and located symmetrically relative to said bayonet tube (8)/(9) forming a symmetrical trefoil structure in top view, called the heat exchanger exchange tube module, wherein the various modules formed by the bayonet tube (8)/(9) and the three tubes (10) parallel to the bayonet tube (8)/(9) are arranged with a triangular pitch so as to occupy the cross section of said heat exchange apparatus as fully as possible, wherein the density of the modules formed from the bayonet tubes (8)/(9) and the three tubes parallel to the bayonet tube (8)/(9) is between 10 and 40 per 1 m2 of the surface of the heat exchange apparatus, wherein the diameter of the central tube is from 30 to 150 mm and the diameter of the tubes coaxial to the central tube and the three tubes parallel to the bayonet tube (8)/(9) is 40 to 200 mm. The invention also relates to a steam-generating process and a catalytic cracking process.

EFFECT: apparatus allows controlling the temperature of the solid heat carrier prior to reintroduction thereof into the reaction area of the described process.
