FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrolyser containing a housing with an electrolyte having an electrolysis cell disposed therein with an anode, a cathode and a membrane separating the volume of the electrolysis cell into the anode and cathode spaces, an anode electrolyte circulation circuit comprising a container with an electrolyte and a heat exchanger, hydrogen and oxygen separators, water supply and oxygen and hydrogen discharge lines characterized in that the cell contains a cathode circulation circuit combined with the anode circulation circuit such that the cathode electrolyte container with the heat exchanger connected through the anode with the anode space and the anode with the electrolyte container is connected to the cathode through the cathode space of the heat exchanger, and a bypass line connecting the cathode container of electrolyte through the tap-controller and a cathode cooler with cathode space. The invention also relates to a cascade of electrolysers.
EFFECT: use of the proposed invention allows to reduce the specific electricity consumption for hydrogen production, to increase the service life of the cell and the possibility of efficient use of the proposed technical solution in the separation of hydrogen isotopes.
