FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrolysis method with an electrolysis cell, conducted in a temperature range of 300 °C to 1,500 °C. Method comprises: supplying a reactant to the electrolysis cell, wherein a gaseous product (H2, CO), is formed at the cathode of the electrolysis cell, and oxygen (O2) is produced at the anode of the electrolysis cell, at least a partial removal of oxygen (O2) by means of at least one first flushing agent supplied to the electrolysis cell, wherein at least the first flushing agent is inert with respect to oxygen (O2), at least a partial separation of the mixture of the flushing agent and oxygen (60-O2) in a separating device into constituent parts – oxygen (O2) and at least a first flushing agent, recycling by re-introducing the separated at least first flushing agent to the electrolysis cell and removing the separated oxygen (O2) from the process. Method is characterised in that the electrolysis cell is a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC), or solid oxide cell (SOC), or a reversible solid oxide cell (RSOC), an inert gas is used as at least the first flushing agent at an operating temperature and at an operating pressure and is recycled in a closed cathode and / or anode flushing circuit, wherein the initial heat energy and the pressure of at least the first flushing agent when it is recirculated are used almost without loss.
EFFECT: use of the present invention makes it possible to operate electrolysis cells more efficiently, reducing the costs of the flushing agent.
