FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: method can also be used by crews of icebreakers or other vessels in the seas and oceans to destroy ice masses, while avoiding the costly approach to the ice cover. The method of destroying ice cover comprises placing at least one hose sealed at one end, made of a biodegradable polymeric material, provided with means for initiating the explosion and the check valve, in the ice breaking zone; connecting the other end of the hose to the detonating gas source, supplying the detonating gas into the hose, while ensuring filling the hose inder the action of the pressure of the gas supplied, disconnecting from the detonating gas source and initiating the explosion of the detonating gas in the hose, with the subsequent detonation destruction of the ice cover.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of destruction of the ice cover near hydraulic structures and vessels without causing damage to them; destructing ice anywhere in the water area of rivers, lakes, seas and oceans; the environmental friendliness of the ice destruction method, as well as expanding the arsenal of means, the method is simple enough to use and can be easily implemented at any desired point due to the compactness of the equipment supplied.
