FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: thermometer consists of a cylinder with a thermometric fluid, a body, a measuring capillary with an extension at the top and a scale. Inside the lower part of the body a rectangular groove is located that divides the measuring capillary into two parts. One of the parts is connected to the cylinder, and the other is aligned with the scale located outside the body. In the rectangular groove, there is a slider with thickness equal to the rectangular groove depth, width equal to the rectangular groove width, and length equal to 0.6-0.7 of the rectangular groove length. The slider contains a vertical through hole with a diameter 1.2÷1.4 times exceeding the measuring capillary diameter. The slider also includes two pushers that extend outwards from the thermometer body. The slider, being in one extreme position in the rectangular groove, connects the upper and lower parts of the measuring capillary with its opening. Being in the other extreme position in the rectangular groove, it covers the gap between the upper and lower parts of the measuring capillary with its body.

EFFECT: simplified and improved reliability of design when implementing the function of maximum temperature recording.
