SUBSTANCE: invention is an absorbent article comprising an activated composition for a two-step controlled release of a functionally active chemical. The activated composition comprises a betaine ester with a functionally active substance and a material for this betaine ester encapsulation, the said encapsulation material being activatable with the release of the said betaine ester upon exposure to the environment, in particular, to a change in pH.
EFFECT: invention allows to create improved absorbent articles with controlled release of active substances.
