FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: for patients with community-acquired pneumonia, activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) enzymes is determined, the coefficient of plastic and energy exchange (PEEC) is calculated, which is the ratio of G6PDH activity to LDH activity, prior to therapy within the first 24 hours after diagnosis using the bioluminescent method, and at PEEC value below 0.34, development of complications is predicted within two weeks of antibiotic therapy.
EFFECT: method allows to determine the risk of complications in the early period of the disease and can be recommended for use in clinical practice.
