FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of reducing the viscosity of a condensation resin, characterized in that a substantially reacted condensation resin is composed of at least one, preferably exactly one urea, formaldehyde and at least one, preferably exactly one CH-acidic aldehyde in a molar ratio of 1:(2-15):(2:15), is reacted with at least one monohydric alcohol in the presence of at least one Bransted acid. Also, a process of producing condensation resins with reduced viscosity is isclosed, a condensation resin obtained by the above methods, a pigment composition comprising a condensation resin and the use of a condensation resin.
EFFECT: obtaining low viscosity condensation resins that are stable during storage and have a reduced VOC.
