FIELD: dispersant for preparation of pigment dispersions.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an alkoxylated polyamidoamine useful as a dispersant for the preparation of pigment dispersions. This alkoxylated polyamidoamine is obtained by reacting a) a polycarboxylic compound with a total number of carboxyl groups TN from 3 to 4 with a primary diamine of formula (I) H 2 NZ-NH 2, where Z is a bond or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing a cycloaliphatic ring system, in a ratio of 0.3TN to TN moles of diamine per 1 mol of polycarboxylic compound, and b) alkoxylation of the product obtained in step a) with at least 0.5 mol of alkylene oxide per 1 mol of primary amino groups.
EFFECT: pigment dispersions which can be used to prepare coating compositions, adhesives or sealants.
