FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: suppressor has a diffuser housing with inlet and outlet holes and throttling grids installed in succession in the housing and made with comb cells. Total area of cells of each grid decreases from the inlet hole, each even throttling grid is made with comb cells filled with acoustic absorbing elements arranged in staggered order over cross-section of the throttling grid. A sound-absorbing element for facing inner walls of the diffuser body is made in form of rigid and perforated walls, between which two layers are arranged: a sound reflecting layer adjacent to the rigid wall, and a sound absorbing layer adjacent to the perforated wall. The layer of the sound-reflecting material is made of a complex profile consisting of uniformly distributed hollow tetrahedrons enabling to reflect sound waves incident in all directions. A basalt-based mineral wool is used as sound-absorbing material, wherein the surface of fibrous sound absorbers is treated with porous paints passing air.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of the suppressor due to increased reliability and reduced material consumption.
