FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering, namely to noise suppressors of a gas stream, preferably when bleeding a compressed gas. Muffler includes a diffuser housing with inlet and outlet openings and throttling grilles installed in series in the housing and made with honeycomb cells, at that the total area of the cells of each grid decreases away from the inlet, each even throttling grating is made with honeycomb cells filled with sound-absorbing elements staggered along the cross-section of the throttling grating. Sound-absorbing element of the throttling grid is made of mineral wool on a basalt rock-like "Rockwool" type, or mineral wool such as "URSA", or basalt wool of type P-75, or glass wool with glass wool lining, or foamed polymer, for example polyethylene or polypropylene, and the sound-absorbing element over its entire surface is lined with an acoustically transparent material, for example, glass fiber of the type EZ-100 or a polymer of "Poviden" type. Sound-absorbing element of the throttling grid is made on the basis of aluminum-containing alloys, followed by their filling with titanium hydride or air with density within 0.5…0.9 kg/m3 with the following strength properties: compressive strength within 5…10 MPa, bending strength within 10…20 MPa.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of noise suppression.
