FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: self-propelled harvesting machine comprises a header, at least one hydraulic actuator, at least one height sensor, at least one pressure sensor, and a control device. The hydraulic actuator is designed to adjust the cut height of the header. The height sensor measures the cut height. The pressure sensor measures the pressure of the working fluid on the actuator. The control device activates the actuator based on the readings of the height sensor and the pressure sensor. The control device is divided into a first control loop and a second control loop. The first control loop generates a cut height correction signal. The second control loop controls the pressure on the actuator.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows cutting and gathering a crop to be harvested at a constant distance from the ground even in case of an uneven field.
