FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of metal equipment to 150-350°C, filling it with liquid glass mixture, holding the mixture, holding the mixture in contact with the equipment heated surface, hardening the rod by blowing through with carbon dioxide or cold air flow or heated air with 10-80% carbon dioxide added. Throughout the process of rod manufacturing, the rod equipment is vacuum treated.
EFFECT: reducing the rod surface friability and increasing its strength.
