FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosing a method of manufacturing a solid particulate material that is useful as a heterogeneous catalyst, comprising the steps of: forming at least one copper oxide slurry including solid copper oxide particles in a liquid; forming at least one suspension of the carrier material including solid particles of the carrier material in the liquid; combining a suspension of copper oxide and a suspension of the carrier material; exposing the combined suspensions to mechanical energy; separating the liquid of the slurry from the solid particles in the combined slurry and exposing the separated solids to the thermal decomposition step. The solid particulate material produced by the method has a BET surface of more than 150 m2/G, a particle size distribution such that D50 is in the range of 25-35 mcm and D50 after 60 minutes of sonication is at least 30% of the original value. A solid particulate material is used as a catalyst for carrying out a chemical reaction selected from a reaction type including hydrogenation, hydrogenolysis, amination and dehydrogenation.
EFFECT: creation of solid heterogeneous catalysts having increased efficiency.
