After drying, heat treatment is carried out with steam at 800-880°C for 20-60 minutes.

EFFECT: invention enables the preparation of granulated active charcoal on the basis of peat with high mechanical strength while maintaining the pore volume of sorbent benzene, reduces the moulding pressure and the total time of heat treatment.
