FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: preparation process involves dissolving a particulate polymer selected from polyurethane, polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, polymethylmethacrylate, polysulfone or mixtures thereof in concentrated sulfuric acid by ultrasound, neutralizing the sulfuric acid polymer solution with an oxide or zinc hydroxide, mixing the resulting solution with ground peat and water, moulding Paste in a screw extruder, maturing of the moulded paste for 3-10 days, heat treatment at a temperature of 140-160°C to constant weight, heating the heat treatment product without air access up to 820-900°C with isothermal holding for 30-240 minutes. After cooling, the material is treated with hydrochloric acid under the action of ultrasound at 60-80°C and water. After drying, heat treatment is carried out with steam at 800-880°C for 20-60 minutes.
EFFECT: invention enables the preparation of granulated active charcoal on the basis of peat with high mechanical strength while maintaining the pore volume of sorbent benzene, reduces the moulding pressure and the total time of heat treatment.
