FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method of thermal insulation of a building having one or more existing external walls (2) and an existing roof structure (4) supported by walls; the method comprises constructing a first external boarding structure (24a) that covers the external surface of at least one external wall. Said boarding structure is located at a distance from the external wall surface to create a cavity (28) in the wall between the external wall and the boarding structure. Constructing a second boarding structure (24b) is envisaged, which passes around or along the existing roof structure (4) and which allows to obtain a closed cavity (26b) in the roof, which passes around or along the roof structure. The cavity (26b) in the roof is mutually connected to the cavity (26a) in the wall. The cavity (26a) in the wall and the cavity (26b) in the roof are filled with a heat-insulating material to obtain a heat-insulating layer (28), which passes substantially continuously through the cavity in the roof and through the cavity in the wall.

EFFECT: improving the thermal insulation of the building.
