FIELD: personal demand items.

SUBSTANCE: absorbent core is proposed for absorbent personal care products, including, but not limited to, baby diapers, training pants, feminine hygiene pads and products for adults suffering from urinary incontinence. The absorbent core (28) and the absorbent product (20), such as a diaper comprising a core. The absorbent core comprises a sheath (16, 16') of the core, into which the absorbent material (60) is encapsulated, wherein the absorbent material comprises superabsorbent polymers in an amount of, at least, 80 wt % of the absorbent material weight. The absorbent core has a relative wet condition increase (RWCI) value of less than 10.0% as determined by the thickness measurement and wet compression force described in the present application, and wherein the sheath (16, 16') of the core is, at least, partially sealed.

EFFECT: when measuring the thickness and compression force in the wet condition, there is essentially no leakage of the absorbent material from the core sheath.
