FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: composition comprises of a precursor of a polyurethane binder comprising the first portion and the second portion, where the first portion contains a polyol component and the second portion contains a polyisocyanate component, and a liquid curing catalyst component in the range of from about 5 to 7 wt % of the first portion of the polyurethane binder containing 2-ethanolpyridine. In this process, the liquid curing catalyst provides an operating time from mixing the binder and filler components to a level of 60 according to the hardness scale of green-sand mould "B", from about 45 to about 60 minutes, and the extraction time from mixing the binder and filler components to the level of 90 according to the hardness scale of green-sand mould "B", which is less than about 167% of the operating time.
EFFECT: moulding larger metal castings due to the provision of a longer operating time.
