FIELD: casting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of phenolic resins of a benzyl-ester type. A composition is proposed for the use in a method for the manufacture of rods in cool boxes, using phenolic resin/polyurethane (PUCB-method) and/or in a method, using cold curing, using phenolic resin/polyurethane (PUNB-method) based on phenolic resin of a benzyl-ester type. In this case, the composition contains at least one formaldehyde absorber in the form of a beta-dicarbonyl compound, as well as an alpha-carbonyl-carboxylic compound. A binder based on the specified composition, a mixture based on molding material and the specified binder, a method for the production of rods, forms, or molds from the specified mixture, a corresponding cast form, a rod, or a mold, and their use for metal casting are also proposed.
EFFECT: proposed composition has a reduced formaldehyde content, while providing high strength characteristics of the resulting products.
