FIELD: electricity-producing industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves slurries, colloids and suspended particles separation from the liquid phase, radionuclides removal from the liquid phase using selective sorbents, and curing of spent sorbents and sludges. The liquid radioactive waste is processed by mixing with a selective sorbent in a vessel, followed by removal of the solution free of radionuclides, sludges, colloids and suspended particles from the container through a filter element. The vessel is provided with at least one filter element. Curing of the vessel contents is effected by introduction of curing materials. Prior to curing of the sorbent inside the vessel, the steps of liquid radioactive waste injection into the said vessel, mixing with the sorbent, and removal of the purified LRW solution to the said vessel, mixing with the sorbent, and withdrawal of the purified solution are performed several times.
EFFECT: increased radiation protection of maintenance personnel in the production process.
