SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of microwave technology and can be used to determine the concentrations of substances in aqueous solutions, including monitoring moisture in hydrocarbon mixtures, for controlling the contamination of aqueous media, for monitoring the concentration of biological cells in suspensions. The method for determining the water content in liquids consists in raising the temperature when the microwave radiation is applied to the capillary tube with the test liquid for a fixed period of time and in determining the corresponding change in absorption during this time period. Then, on the basis of the difference in absorption of the microwave radiation by the liquid at different temperatures, the concentration of water in the liquid is determined.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measurements in conditions of maximum resonator Q-factor.
