FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes hydrogenation of initial material in the form of ingots, rolled stock and wastes of titanium and titanium-base alloys, grinding and screening of hydrogenated material, dehydrogenation, grinding, screening, classification and subsequent spheroidization of powder. Three to five hydrogenation cycles are carried out, each of which includes heating of initial material in hydrogen atmosphere to temperature not below 815°C and cooling to temperature not higher than 400°C. Dehydrogenation is carried out at temperature 580-610°C, after completion of dehydrogenation reactor is evacuated providing rarefaction of 0.67-0.93 pa. Grinding of hydrogenated and dehydrogenated materials in ball mill drum is carried out with ratio of grinded material to the volume of grinded bodies 0.27-0.33. Powder classification is carried out at rotor rotation speed of 3900-4200 rpm/min. The spheroidization of powder is carried out by feeding powder into plasmatron arc at rate of 2.5-3.7 g/min.
EFFECT: stabilise powder fraction composition and increase the degree of its spheroidization.
