SUBSTANCE: method for generation of clauses for search query obtained in a search application. Method is performed by a processor operably linked to a search application. Method includes receiving a search query and indicating the corresponding current cursor position. Search query is received and includes at least one received search query term. In response to the fact that the current cursor position is one of a plurality of predetermined cursor positions, to determine a clause for search query, one of a plurality of clause algorithms is executed, corresponding to one of a plurality of predetermined suggested actions associated with the current cursor position. Each of a plurality of predetermined cursor positions is associated with at least one of a plurality of predetermined suggested actions. Each of a plurality of predefined proposed actions correspond to one of a plurality of clause algorithms.

EFFECT: increased speed of user interaction with search engine.
