FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: grooving tool comprises holder, in seat of which that is limited by lower support wall and side support walls, cutting plate is fixed by means of interaction of wedge protrusion with responsive wedge slot, having front surface, lower and side support surfaces for interaction with accordingly lower support wall of seat and side support walls of seat. In order to increase strength of cutting plate and tool, side support surfaces of cutting plate are installed on side surfaces of wedge slot, arranged in cutting plate as open to its lower support surface and meeting in direction to its front surface, and side support walls of seat are installed on wedge protrusion, which is arranged on lower support wall of seat. In cross section, which is parallel to lower support wall of seat, side support surfaces of cutting plate may be arranged as V-shaped and convex, and side support walls of seat - as V-shaped and concave.
EFFECT: increased strength of cutting plate.
