FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: craniometer has a ring-limb with a semi-ring with a movable carriage fixed to it in the frontal plane, and is fixed above the base platform. Measuring devices are mounted on the movable half-ring carriage, and have a body with a spring loaded movable rod, the outer end of which is provided with a stop, and the inner end is combined with a curvimeter. The ends of a measuring ruler are fixed to the curvimeter and rod stop. A screw jack is fixed on the base platform, so that its vertical axis coincides with the axis of the shaft of the step motor located on the movable platform. The step motor shaft is combined with the centre of the movable tablet, with a craniophor installed thereon. The cross-section of the curvimeters circumference rings is made in the form of an elongated ellipse. Distal points of the bypass rings are oriented along a vertical central axis drawn through the centre of the movable plate. The bypass ring of the mobile measuring device curvimeter is exposed on a conditional horizontal line passing through the external ear canals. Rod cross section is congruent with the configuration of the through hole in the measuring device body, which prevents its rotation around its own axis, but does not prevent its translational movement.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements during skull study for possible comparison of cranial indices in the group of skulls studied, determination of the coordinates of skull shape asymmetry localization, cranial vault angular diameters and length of the perimeter and part of the perimeter between the fixed points of cranial vault diameter angular measurement.
