SUBSTANCE: synergistic herbicidal composition comprises a herbicidally effective amount of (a) a compound of the formula
or agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof and (b) at least, one compound or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof, carboxylic acid, carboxylate salt or ester selected from the group of sulfonylureas consisting of: amidosulfuron, azimsulfuron, bensulfuron-methyl, chlorosulfuron, cyclosulfamuron, ethoxysulfuron, flazasulfuron, flucetosulfuron, flupyrsulfuron-methyl sodium, phos ramsulfuron, imazosulfuron, iodosulfuron-methyl sodium, mesosulfuron-methyl, metsulfuron-methyl, nicosulfuron, orthosulfamuron, primisulfuron-methyl, propirisulfuron, rimsulfuron, sulfometuron-methyl, sulfosulfuron, thifensulfuron-methyl, tribenuron-methyl, and trifloxysulfuron-sodium, wherein (a) and (b) are present in the composition in the ratio such that the composition exhibits herbicidal synergism, and where the ratio between (a) and (b) is from about 350:1 to about 1:12.5.
