FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: antenna device composed of at least first, second and third conductive metal plates arranged in parallelepiped configuration is disclosed. The third plate defines a lower plane, and the first and second plates together define an upper plane substantially parallel to the lower plane. The first and second plates are separated by a slot in the upper plane, and the second and third plates are connected to each other by a ground connection. The first plate comprises the first active arm of antenna that is provided with a feeder connection, and the second plate comprises the second arm of antenna that can be passive or active.
EFFECT: antenna device generates a circularly polarised radiation pattern that suits well to personal navigation devices and is significantly more compact than existing ceramic patch antennas commonly used in such devices.
