FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing aluminium hydroxide with a mineralizing additive and heat treating the resulting mixture. As a mineralizing additive, titanium dioxide or titanium salt (IV) is used, the thermal decomposition of which produces titanium dioxide, in combination with manganese oxide (IV) or manganese oxide (II) or manganese salt (II), with thermal decomposition of which manganese oxide (II) is produced. The components of the charge are taken in the following ratio: aluminium hydroxide in terms of aluminium oxide, 92-98 wt %, mineralizing additive 2-8 wt %. The mineralizing additive may also contain copper oxide or zirconium oxide. The thermal treatment of the mixture of aluminium hydroxide with a mineralizing additive is carried out at the temperature of 1100-1150°C. In the second version, the same titanium compound in combination with calcium oxide or with calcium salt is used as a mineralizing additive, with the thermal decomposition of which calcium oxide is produced.

EFFECT: simplification and reduction in the method cost for producing a charge for aluminium-oxide ceramics by reducing the temperature of producing the sinter and its products.
