The method for defibrillator (100) activation includes the step of provision of the first discharge button (110) on the user control panel (115) located on the defibrillator. Then, an electrical connection is established to the defibrillator of either the pressure electrode (200) having the second discharge button (210) or the adhesive electrode (190). Connections of the adhesive electrode are determined at the stage of electrical connection establishment. The first discharge button (110) is activated only when the electrical connection of the adhesive electrode is determined.
