FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of a self-expanding peripheral stent from an alloy based on titanium nickelide with shape memory effect (SME) and superelasticity with a modified surface is described. The method includes laser cutting of the stent preform, thermomechanical treatment, stent surfaces cleaning and modification with accelerated silicon ions. Thermomechanical treatment is carried out by successive preform annealing on cylindrical mandrels with a stepwise increase in the mandrels diameter, while increasing the stent preform diameter when moving it from one mandrel to another by 20÷50%.

EFFECT: corrosion resistance, biocompatibility and non-toxicity in biological environments.
