FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a diamond-containing matrix includes the preparation of a carbide powder charge, its plasticization, layer filling of the prepared charge into a metal mould and the laying of diamond grains having a shell of chromium particles, pressing the charge with diamond grains into a briquette and sintering the briquette in a copper impregnated furnace in a vacuum from the bottom up. Each diamond grain is placed in a copper foil of 25 and less microns thick before placing it in a carbide batch and pressing it into a briquette, into which 80-120% of the diamond granule powder is pre-laid and distributed, ensuring uniform distribution of the powder throughout the diamond surface. Thermal diffusion metallization of diamond grains with chromium is provided during sintering.
EFFECT: increasing the adhesion strength of diamond grains to the tool matrix and reducing the diamond consumption as a result of preventing diamond graphitization by shielding the contact of the diamond surface with a copper foil with active components of carbide powder.
