FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of diamond tool by impregnation. Impregnated pellet containing plasticised hard-alloy mix with diamond laid in layers is pressed into tool case. At least, one hole is bored in case lateral wall level with pellet height. In liquid-phase sintering in vacuum furnace, tool case is arranged vertically by pellet contact surface in impregnated copper to allow impregnation to occur from bottom to top.
EFFECT: self-controlled impregnation, uniform density of pellet, higher metal yield.
